9/26-10/13

For the next couple of weeks we will be diving into Egyptian history. This chapter will be done in a way to prepare students for a essay test. Each lesson will be given 3 days of dedicated focus to ensure complete understanding. Emphasis will be on in depth note taking. Students are encouraged to study at home also to compliment the study time in class.

September 13-23

Over the next two weeks we will be studying chapter 3 in our SS books. Over the course of our study we will be exploring life in Mesopotamia, Babylon, and learning about how government worked. Students will analyze Hammurabi's code as well as experiment with hieroglyphics. Student received a worksheet packet on 9/12 and we will be using that for homework along with the reading.

Our test on Ch. 3 will be Friday 9/23. Students will need to study outside of the classroom to help them prepare for this test.

Sept. 6-9, 2011

CIVICS: the assignment from Civics has a new due date of 9/14/2011. Students will be bringing home a copy of the assignment Tuesday.

Social Studies:
Tuesday: Read chapter 2- lesson 3. Students will be able to answer the review questions, and define the vocabulary from the lesson in preparation for our in class discussion on Wednesday.

Wednesday: Discuss chapter 2-3, hand out study guide for Friday's test, and complete the chapter review page in worksheet packet.

Thursday: Continue review in class, answer the questions at the end of the chapter and complete the study guide.

Friday: Test on Ch 2.  and work on Civics lesson #2
